    The mission of the role is to aid our technical team in developing early-stage techno-economic assessments (TEA) for potential mining and mineral processing solutions being developed at Allonnia. Join us as we develop novel approaches for ore beneficiation, waste valorization and upcycling, and capturing REEs from untapped resources.

    The role has three key activities 1) to evaluate conventional and novel microbial processes in bioleaching and mineral recovery as related to our work, 2) to work closely with the laboratory team to help translate lab scale findings to potential real-world solutions and 3) to aid in the development of pilot scale testing plans for potential mining solutions. This is an hourly position that requires coming into the office a few times a week.

  • Responsibilities
    • Compile technical and economic data about both conventional and novel mining processing operations
    • Prepare and organize data for use in early-stage TEAs using best practices
    • Generate summary reports and presentations to support engineering team
  • Requirements
    • Working towards an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in relevant, quantitative discipline such as Mining Engineering, Environmental Science and Management, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Ecology, or related interdisciplinary fields with a focus on mining science.
    • Microbiology or biology background is a plus.
    • Coursework in Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) or Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) is required
    • Understanding of TEA best practices, including developing future cost estimates, evaluating technology performance, and justifying scaling assumptions.
    • Strong problem-solving skills independently and with collaborators.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in team environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office tools
